Chanel sunnies

Just received a fab gift from the husband, this time Chanel sunnies. I am supposed to buy this sunglasses for myself from our recent vacation in Singapore last month, but failed due to some last minute change of plans. Good thing that the husband flew the next day to Bangkok, and he got me the sunnies instead at Chanel Siam Paragon. And instead of just buying it for me ... he bought and paid for it, and gave it to me as a gift. Weeee!! Happy, happy! Think this is the best plan to get something from your husband unexpectedly! LOL.

Anyway, as a token of appreciation for the husband's surprise gift, I promised him that the money I am supposed to use for my Chanel sunnies will go directly to our health savings account. You see, we've already established a health fund in case of emergencies in the family. Though the kids not sickies at all, it is still best to have something saved for the family's use. It was the husband's idea, and I think the best gift for the family :)

timeless and classic ...

Of course, I gave in. After reading the post from TPF blog reasons why own a chanel flap ... naturally, I've decided to go for the ultimate mother's cum birthday gift. The Chanel Jumbo Flap. Yes, a BIRTHDAY and MOTHER's DAY GIFT rolled into one. And why the flap? It's timeless and classic. But seriously, with the amazing price in Paris, and with the Euro (and USD) really cheap now, who wouldn't grab the chance?! (even my birthday a month ahead...what the heck!LOL)
Believe me, before buying this bag I did a looot of research. So it was not bought on an impulse. A lot of (price)research, readings spent before I decided to get THE BAG. Mostly comparative pricing from Asia, US and Europe. And the verdict, the cheapest place on earth to get a Chanel ... from the fashion capital of the world, Paris!

Anyway, I am one happy baghag here. Finally, got the classic flap baby. I've posted the bag pictures below. Unfortunately, I think the photos don't do any justice in showing the real beauty of the bag. Perhaps the lighting not good or probably because I use an old point and shoot camera ... but nevertheless, it's a real beauty and nobody would argue with this classic piece, right?

on Chanel Flap

Lifted this post from The Purse Blog Forum, wherein I am also a baghag member. I've been drooling for this classic flap for years and never did I imagined that I will be caught mesmerized under the magic spell of CHANEL FLAP. Happy to say, I gave in ... just recently. Why? Check out my post below.
Five reasons to own a CHANEL flap bag:

1. They’re just going to go up in price later: Seriously, are you considering buying one? If you are, go ahead and do it. Chanel is among the masters of the crippling price increase, jacking up the MSRPs of its bags every six months to a year, sometimes by as much as $500 for a basic bag. As a general rule, bags don’t hold their value all that well, but constantly rising prices keep the timeless flap bags fairly easy to resell later. Plus, even if you don’t take resale into consideration, you’re just going to have to fork over more cash if you wait.

2. Owning one is like getting in to one of the most exclusive sororities on campus: Except, you know, this is real life. Legendary actresses, socialites and royals have carried this bag, and hey, if you can’t marry a prince, you can at least buy the same bag as the broads who can. Or the same bag as the girls from The Hills – it seems as though the bag has become the go-to accessory when a younger woman wants to signal to the world that she has grown and matured into a fashionable lady.

3. So many designers have been “inspired” by the flap – if you’re going to pay big bucks, get the original: Everyone from Urban Outfitters to Marc Jacobs has been accused of stealing from Chanel’s signature bag, and there’s a good reason for that – it’s timeless, iconic and still as relevant to luxury customers today as it was back in the 1950s. Chain straps and quilted leather have become nearly synonymous with the idea of the designer handbag, and the Chanel flap may even be more well-known across the world than the illustrious handbag holy grail, the Hermes Birkin.

4. Buy a flap bag in caviar leather and it will likely outlive me and you both: Seriously, that stuff is indestructible. Run your fingers – no, better yet, run your fingernails along it next time you’re near a Chanel bag made of the material, and you’ll see what I mean. It has a finish nearly as tough as Louis Vuitton monogram canvas, but you’re paying for actual leather instead of, well, canvas. With how much those monogram bags run these days, the price of a neutral leather Chanel bag with similar durability seems downright reasonable. But…

5. Despite their cultural ubiquity, the bags themselves are still too price-prohibitive for everyone to own: They come in sizes ranging from XS to XL, but even the smallest of the Chanel flap bags is way more expensive than the average woman wants to spend. You’re in no danger of seeing your bag on every woman on the block (unless you live on a really, really nice block, but if you do, there’s probably no sense in trying to stay one step ahead anyway), and even if you see a lot of people carrying non-Chanel bags that look similar, there’s absolutely no comparison when you see and hold a Chanel flap bag in person.

Christmas Wish

Since I've been very, very good this year. For Christmas ( and New Year), I wish Dear Santa will give me any of my wishlist below:

Balenciaga Giant Day Bag with Silver Hardware in Ruby Red or Sang color

Dream Bag No. 2 : Chanel Classic Jumbo Flap in Caviar with Silver Hardware (kahit Pre-owned, ok na Santa!

Hahaha ... Wake up, girl! As if I will get Bag No. 2 anytime this year or next year. After getting the C dream bag last August, I don't think we have extra resources or moolah to get a brand new (nor pre-owned) for the next years to come.

The good news, the Balenciaga bag may arrive anytime soon! Weeee!! More budget-friendly. After months of waiting, finally the new red this season (Sang) will be available. Oh, just can't wait. Another Red-y Christmas for me!!

The Dream Bag ...

... finally, dream no more!

It took me years before I've decided to take the big step ... that is, to reward myself with a C bag. I used to think that I don't deserve to own this. Not yet the right time. I was too young back then.

But now, I can say ...I've earned this. Been working hard for the past years and I deserve the ultimate gift for myself (actually, begged the husband to pitch in also!LOL).

So here it is ... my post-birthday, Christmas and "push" present gift. The Chanel GST. Made possible by very good couple, Abie and Howell . They lovingly and carefully hand-carried it all the way from Paris! Truly appreciate the effort (and pressure) of bringing home this baby. Notice how they meticulously brought the bag from Paris to Manila. Everything was kept intact. From the packaging, boxes, ribbons ..and even the gift presentation. It was handed to me almost as if I personally bought it straight from Paris store. I heart it so much that I even dared not to destroy the presentation without taking pictures (super thanks Abie and Howell!)
